Ads & Injections

Mimicry provides a flexible system for injecting monetization scripts, tracking tags, and custom HTML across your site.

Ad Placements

The system supports four strategic injection points that are automatically handled by the theme engine:

Global Head/Foot

  • • Header: Injected into the <head>. Ideal for Google AdSense auto-ads or analytics scripts.
  • • Footer: Injected before </body>. Best for sticky ads or chat widgets.

Content Injection

  • • Middle Ad: Randomly placed between paragraphs in the article body to maximize visibility.
  • • List Ad: Automatically appears after the 3rd item in the blog/category feed.

Monetization Safety (ads.txt)

A dedicated section in the Ads dashboard allows you to manage your ads.txt content. This is served directly at /ads.txt, which is essential for verification with providers like Google AdSense and Ezoic.

warning Theme Support

While global scripts work on all themes, Middle Ad and List Ad placements require the theme to support the render_ads() helper. All official Mimicry themes support this out of the box.

Best Practices

  • Use the Header Script for lightweight CSS or configuration objects.
  • For performance, try to place heavy JavaScript libraries in the Footer.
  • Ensure your ads.txt is updated correctly to prevent revenue loss.
